オーストラリア短期留学

2月11日～24日の日程で、G4～G6までの希望する児童22名がオーストラリア短期留学へ行ってきました。児童は姉妹校ヒルズ学園での英語研修やホームステイを通じて日ごろ身につけた英語を実際に使って「生活」し、異文化を体験してくることで語学力はもちろんコミュニケーションスキルにも自信をつけて帰ってきました。

 

姉妹校ヒルズ学園の紹介

クイーンズランド州のカリキュラムに基づき、1992年に設立されたプリスクールから高校までの一貫校。ゴールドコーストより100キロほど内陸に入った大変自然豊かな場所ジンブンバにあり広大な校地には素晴らしいスポーツ施設を有し、すべての生徒があらゆる舞台で活躍できるようレベルの高い教育を提供している。海外からの留学生も積極的に受け入れ、異文化で育った生徒たちが互いを尊重し、交流を深め、学び合うことで多種多様な文化や言語を身近に感じることのできる学校である。本校とは2014年に姉妹校提携し、最近では短期留学のほかスカイプを通した交流なども行っている。

２日目　［２月１２日（金）］ 05：30　ブリスベン国際空港に到着

10：30　オリエンテーション　ホストファミリーの家へ
We arrived at Brisbane International airport this morning. The children were given permission to see the cockpit of our QANTAS airplane. After that we did an orientation at Hills before the children were picked up by their host families. Children will rest with their host families today and then we will go to Dreamworld tomorrow.
今朝ブリスベン国際空港に到着しました。子どもたちは特別にカンタス航空のコクピットに入る許可をいただきました！ヒルズ学園にてオリエンテーションをした後、子どもたちのホストファミリーがお迎えに来てくれました。今日はこの後それぞれのホストファミリーの家で過ごし、明日はドリームワールドに行く予定です。

  • 遠足＜Dreamworld＞
Today LCA children spent the day at Dreamworld. They were able to enjoy the attractions, rides and animals. Tomorrow will be spent with their host family before school starts on Monday.
今日は1日ドリームワールドで過ごしました。子どもたちはアトラクションや乗り物、動物を楽しみました。明日は1日それぞれのホストファミリーと過ごし、月曜日からいよいよ学校が始まります。

Today LCA students in Australia had a golf lesson. They practiced coordination, swinging and putting. They were also given a special lesson about Australia. They learned about the local wildlife and culture. Tomorrow they will be going to the Gold Coast.
今日はゴルフレッスンを受けました。フォームやスウィング、パッティングの練習をしました。また、オーストラリアの野生生物や文化についての特別授業も受けました。明日はゴールドコーストに行きます！

  • 遠足＜ゴールドコースト＞
Today LCA children in Australia went to the 77th floor observatory of Skypoint on the Gold Coast. They also were able to do their souvenir shopping at Harbour Town.
今日はゴールドコーストにある７７階の展望台スカイポイントへ行きました。ハーバータウンでお土産を買うことも出来ました。

  • 遠足＜Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary＞
Today LCA children in Australia got to spend the day with the local wildlife. Each child hugged a koala and fed the kangaroos. They saw all kinds of wildlife from platypus to wombat.
今日は地元の野生動物と触れ合いました。一人ずつコアラを抱いたりカンガルーに餌をあげたりしました。カモノハシからウォンバットまで様々な野生動物を見ることができました。

Today LCA children in Australia joined regular classes with Hills students for the day. They worked hard and played hard with their Hills classmates. Some of the children also got to try a game of cricket in P.E. class.
今日はヒルズ学園の通常クラスに参加しました。クラスメイトと一緒にたくさん勉強し、たくさん遊びました。体育ではクリケットのゲームに参加した子どももいました。

Today LCA children in Australia joined regular classes with their Hills classmates. Today was a uniform free day at Hills so it was a very relaxed atmosphere. The LCA children also had a golf lesson and got to hit some balls at the driving range.
今日もヒルズ学園の通常クラスに参加しました。今日はUniform Free Day（服装が自由の日）だったので、とてもリラックスした雰囲気でした。ゴルフレッスンもあり、練習場で打ちっぱなしをしました。

  • 遠足＜Movieworld＞
Today LCA children in Australia had their last excursion for this trip. They spent the day at Movieworld on the Gold Coast. We enjoyed great weather and it was very exciting to hear that over the past week the children have gradually began speaking English even amongst themselves! They are doing a great job.
今日は最後の遠足です。子どもたちは一日ゴールドコーストのムービーワールドで過ごしました。素晴らしいお天気に恵まれました。そして、とても嬉しいのが子どもたち同士でも英語を話すのが段々と増えてきたこと！子どもたち本当によくやっています！

Today LCA children in Australia came to school in the morning and told us many fun stories about how they spent their weekend with their host families. Today they studied and played with their Hills classmates. They are doing a wonderful job at adjusting to Australian life.
子どもたちは今朝学校に来るなりそれぞれホストファミリーと週末どんな事をしたか楽しい話をしてくれました。ヒルズ学園の子どもたちと勉強や遊びをし、オーストラリアの生活によく馴染んでいます。

Today LCA children in Australia spent the day with their Hills classmates. For our final day in Australia Hills treated us to a BBQ and farewell ceremony.LCA children did an amazing job this year using their English and assimilating into the Australian way of life! We will be back in Japan tomorrow night.
今日もヒルズ学園の子どもたちと過ごしました。オーストラリアで過ごす最後の日になるのでお別れ会をしてBBQランチを振る舞ってくれました。LCAの子どもたちは英語を使いこなし、オーストラリアの生活に馴染み本当によく頑張りました。明日の夜、日本に帰ります。
